![Episode 1: The Return After 10,000 Years
Ten thousand years ago, the Demon King Azrael Valthor ruled over the world with unmatched power. Feared by gods, dragons, and humanity alike, he suddenly vanished during the Great Celestial War. No one knew whether he had died or sealed himself away.
As centuries passed, his existence became nothing more than a legend.
In the present day, the world has changed. Humanity now lives in a system where everyone gains powers, levels up, and becomes "Players" through mysterious gates and dungeons.
Deep beneath the ruins of the ancient Demon Palace, a sleeping figure opens his eyes.
Azrael: "Ten thousand years... How long have I slept?"
He steps outside and discovers that his once-mighty empire has disappeared. The gods who feared him are gone, and nobody remembers his name.
Suddenly, a glowing screen appears before him.
[Welcome, Player Azrael Valthor.]

Azrael: "Player? What foolish magic is this?"
As he touches the screen, the system trembles.

[Warning! Ancient existence detected.]
Monsters around the world begin to panic as they sense the return of a being that should not exist.
Meanwhile, the leaders of the strongest guilds receive a mysterious message.
[The Lost Demon King has awakened.]
Far away, a silver-haired girl named Luna, a rookie Player, witnesses Azrael effortlessly destroy a high-level monster with a single finger.
Luna: "Who are you?"
Azrael: "I was once king of demons... but it seems this era calls me a Player."
As ancient enemies awaken and hidden gods begin to move, the forgotten Demon King embarks on a new journey to uncover the truth behind his disappearance and reclaim his lost power.

![# THE HIDDEN COST OF GIVING
### A visual research comic about blood donation, iron depletion and donor safety
## OVERALL CREATIVE BRIEF
Create a two-sided scientific educational comic / manga-style research abstract based on an MSc research project investigating whole-blood donation intensity, iron depletion and risk heterogeneity across ethnic groups.
The comic should feel like a **short human story that gradually becomes an epidemiological investigation**.
The reader should begin by following one fictional regular blood donor and believing that everything is straightforward:
“I donate blood. I feel fine. My haemoglobin is okay.”
The story should then reveal that haemoglobin does not tell the entire story about iron stores, introduce ferritin and cumulative donation exposure, and finally zoom out from the individual donor to a population-level epidemiological investigation.
The comic must communicate scientific information accurately but accessibly.
Do NOT portray blood donation as dangerous or discourage donation.
The central message is:
**Blood donation saves lives, but repeated donation can place different demands on donors' iron stores. Understanding donation intensity and differences in risk may help inform better donor protection.**
The visual style should be sophisticated scientific manga / graphic medicine rather than childish cartooning.
Use clean linework, expressive but realistic human characters, modern NHS-style blood donation environments, subtle medical diagrams and visual metaphors.
Use a consistent protagonist throughout the story.
