Story
PANEL 1 — FULL WIDTH ESTABLISHING PANEL (Top of page)
Scene: A grand but modest royal bedchamber. Stone walls with faded tapestry. Heavy velvet curtains half-drawn, pale morning light cutting diagonally across the room. An enormous canopy bed dominates the left side — its pillows and blankets disheveled from three days of coma sleep. The room feels still, slightly cold, abandoned.
Rieto sits upright in the center of the bed — a tiny silver-haired five-year-old figure swallowed by the massive mattress. His white sleeping robe is rumpled. His silver-gray hair is messy and tangled. His blue-gray eyes are half-open, hazy, staring at nothing.
Mood: Disorientation. The silence of someone waking into a life they half-remember.
Screentone: Heavy gradient shadow on ceiling and left wall. Fine dot tone across bedding. Sharp diagonal light beam from curtain gap hitting the floor.
Caption box top left:
"I think I had a weird dream. A gray world. A company. A computer."
Caption box below:
"But that was me. And this... is also me."
PANEL 2 — MEDIUM PANEL (Left side, second row)
Scene: Rieto's hands held up in front of his face — tiny, pale, five-year-old hands. He opens and closes them slowly, studying them with quiet intensity. His expression is calm but deeply focused — a philosopher in a child's body.
Mood: The uncanny moment of realizing you inhabit a different form. Quiet and unsettling.
Screentone: Fine cross-hatch tone on the bed sheets behind his hands. Sharp ink on finger lines and knuckles. Light radiating softly from the window catches his fingertips.
Inner monologue bubble:
"Small hands. This body. Five years old."
Second inner monologue bubble below:
"...The line between dream-me and real-me is still blurry."
PANEL 3 — WIDE HORIZONTAL PANEL (Right side, second row)
Scene: Rieto climbs down from the oversized bed — his small feet dangling over the edge before dropping to the stone floor with a soft thud. The bed towers behind him, making him look even smaller. He lands in a shaft of morning light. His robe pools slightly at his feet, too long for his frame.
Mood: First steps. Literally and metaphorically. Slightly comedic in scale contrast.
Screentone: Strong shadow cast by the bed frame over the floor. Fine dot tone on sleeping robe fabric folds. Speed line suggestion around his landing feet.
No dialogue. Let the visual breathe.
PANEL 4 — DRAMATIC VERTICAL PANEL (Full height, right third of page)
Scene: Rieto stands directly in front of a tall ornate standing mirror — gold-framed, slightly tarnished, reflecting the dim room behind him. He stares at his own reflection with wide, serious blue-gray eyes.
Visual focus: Two Rietos — the real boy on the left side of panel, and his reflection on the right — creating a visual metaphor for two lives, two selves, two memories existing in one small body. The reflection is slightly brighter, sharper.
His silver-gray hair catches the light. His face is soft, pretty, delicate — long lashes, small nose, slightly droopy eyes. He looks like a porcelain doll examining itself.
Mood: Identity confrontation. Quiet wonder mixed with mild existential confusion.
Screentone: Deep gradient shadow fills the room behind him. Fine screentone on mirror frame details. Strong white highlight lines on his hair.
Inner monologue bubble (beside reflection):
"Gray hair. Blue-gray eyes. Long lashes."
Inner monologue bubble below:
"...I'm quite the pretty toddler."
Small beat panel insert bottom right corner — tiny Rieto expression close-up, one eyebrow slightly raised, mouth curving into the faintest satisfied smile.
Caption box bottom:
"The dream-me was probably nothing special. But this me... has potential."
